ONEIDA — Douglas J. Dunn, 84, of 416 Sconondoa St., formerly of Durhamville, died Wednesday, Oct. 28,1987, in Oneida City hospital, where he had been a patient for the past week. Born in New York City on Sept. 1, 1903, he was a son of Dennis and Margaret Coleman Dunn. A life resident of Durhamville, he moved to Oneida this past year. He married Bertha Kaiser Sullivan in Durhamville on Aug. 1, 1963. She died on Jan. 8.,1966. Before his retirement in 1969, he was employed by the Kehoe Marine Towing Corp. as a tugboat captain in the State Barge Canal System in the metropolitan New York City area. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s of the Irish Ridge Church, a life member of the Oneida Knights of Columbus, and was a member of various maritime associations. Services will be at 9:30 Saturday at the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home and at 10 at St. Francis Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Durhamville.
Eternal rest grant unto him, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
