“The Light is On”
Monday, March 30th from 4-7pm
at St. Joseph’s, Oneida

Churches around the Diocese of Syracuse will have an opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Monday, March 30th from 4pm – 7pm. Fr. Chris and Fr. Ryan will hear confessions at St. Joseph’s Church with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. If you did not make it to the penance service, this will be the last scheduled opportunity for confession before Easter.

 Taize Prayer Service
Wednesday, April 1st at 7pm
at St. Joseph’s, Oneida

Taize is a style of prayer that involves chanted song, Scripture, and silent meditation.

Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Holy Thursday, April 2nd at 6pm
at St. Agatha’s, Canastota

The Sacred Triduum begins with the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday. This liturgy will include the ritual of the Washing of the Feet as well as the stripping of the altar.

Spirit of Hope Churches Open Until 10:00pm
Holy Thursday, April 2nd

It is tradition to spend Holy Thursday evening in prayer and to “keep watch” with Jesus in the garden. Churches in Spirit of Hope Parish will have an altar of repose set up where people can visit and pray and keep watch. We encourage you to visit as many churches as you are able to this night. The churches that will be be open are St. Agatha’s, St. Joseph’s, St. Helena’s, Holy Family, St. Mary’s Irish Ridge, and the Convent Chapel at St. Patrick’s.

Divine Mercy Chaplet
Good Friday, April 3rd at 12:00pm
at St. Joseph’s, Oneida

We will have a special chanted Divine Mercy Chaplet on Good Friday to pray in atonement for the seven deadly sins at the hour we remember Jesus being led out to the Cross.

Celebration of the Lord’s Passion and Death
Good Friday, April 3rd at 3:00pm
at Holy Family, Vernon

By sacred tradition there is no Mass celebrated on this day. Enough of the Holy Eucharist is consecrated at the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday so that the faithful can receive Communion on Good Friday. The liturgy on this day consists of the Liturgy of the Word, the veneration of the Holy Cross, and the reception of Holy Communion.

Stations of the Cross with
Veneration of the Cross
Good Friday, April 3rd at 6:00pm
at St. Agatha’s, Canastota

Stations of the Cross on Good Friday will be held at St. Agatha’s. There will be an opportunity for the Veneration of the Cross at the end of the Stations.

The Easter Vigil
Holy Saturday, April 4th at 8:00pm
at St. Joseph’s, Oneida

The Easter Vigil is the “mother of all vigils” and is the most sacred celebration that the Church has. The Easter Vigil is packed with beautiful symbolism. This Mass will also included the baptism and reception into the Church of several people in our community.
