Ann Conlon Shortle

Oneida, Oct 7 — Mrs. Anna Shortle, one of the oldest residents of the village of Durhamville, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lena Arlington. She was born in Ireland eighty three years ago, and for the last sixty years, her home had been Durhamville, where she was widely known and universally loved and respected. She was a communicant of St. Francis Church, where the funeral will be held with requiem high Mass on Monday morning at 10 o’clock, the officiating clergyman being the Rev. B. W. Goosens, pastor of St. Patrick’s church, this city, and the Rev. Father Sheehan, assistant pastor of St. Patrick’s. Interment will be made in the cemetery at Irish Ridge. Mrs. Shortle leaves five daughters, Mrs. Mary Conway, Mrs. E. H. Putman and Mrs. Margaret Shortle of Buffalo, Mrs. Nicholas Lintner and Mrs. Lena Arlington of Durhamville, and three sons, James A. Shortle of Durhamville, C. M. Shortle of Bernard’s Bay and W. H. Shortle of Sisbreville, W.Va.


Eternal rest grant unto her, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
