VERNON – Mrs. Eleanor H. Shumard, 73, of the Village Apartments, who had formerly been employees at Oneida Silversmiths , died Wednesday Jan. 7, 1987, in Oneida City Hospital after a brief illness. She was born in Durhamville May 6, 1913, the daughter of Josiah and Margaret Ennis Hyland. She married Charles Shumard, June 27, 1941, in St. Mary’s Irish Ridge Church in Durhamville. Before working for Oneida silversmiths, she had been employed at the former Olney and Floyd Canning Factory I n Canastota. Mrs. Shumard was a member of St. Mary’s Irish Ridge Church and its altar rosary societies. She was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Her husband survives.
Eternal rest grant unto her, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
